Education in China (HK & Shanghai)

Created Wednesday, 12th October 2011, 19:16 by Whykay
We know education in Far East is superior to over here, but what do you think of the results of Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) tests?

Looks like Shanghai is re-hauling and investing more into schools, as opposed to our cuts in teacher placements, increase in class sizes and cutting of school subjects because of the budget.

Do we have something to learn on how Chinese view on the importance of education, many insist that it's not a "Tiger mom" approach, but students own dedication to education with support of the family.

Hong Kong is changing their second level, moving away from British system. Time will tell on how this will alleviate pressure on final exams and increase from 3 years to 4 years in college.
