Playstation Sony Network (PSN) fiasco

Created Thursday, 28th April 2011, 11:17 by Whykay
If you haven't heard about this news by now (it's gone mainstream at this stage), you should take note, unless you aren't subscribed to PSN. But for many gamers out there, potential theft of username/passwords, credit card details, etc. is something to worry about, as Sony only announced this fiasco (which they described as a PR disaster) only a couple of days ago. It's not good enough, especially when credit/debit card details, home addresses, emails, username/passwords are involved. They should have announced this a week ago (when the Sony network was taken offline) as a just in case measure. The damage within  a week with all that information is scary. Will Sony gain their reputation as being safe to leave your details with them in the near future?

Aside from the paranoia of wondering if my email is compromised (since I don't have credit card details on PSN), like many others, I changed my password on many online sites I use.

So word of advice, please do change your passwords, even though you don't remember what you used for PSN, and they are still offline.
