Irish Born Chinese

Swear oath of fidelity for new Irish citizens

Created Friday, 17th June 2011, 09:44 by Whykay
The citizenship test will not go ahead, but new Irish citizens will need to swear an oath of fidelity to the nation instead of taking an oath in a district court.

The Government also promises that the wait time for citizenship applications will be no more than six months for their applications to be processed. My friend is documenting his experiences in trying to get Irish citizenship, and I think he's still waiting!

If any others out there who is currently going through this painful process or have been through this, please share your experiences in the comments section.
