Li Na - winner of French Open 2011

She won the French Open by beating Francesca Schiavone, which is a first for a Chinese athletes in this area. I remember Michael Chang, and was one of my favourite Asian tennis players even though he was American and his parents were from Taiwan. Just having Asian athletes in this area of sport where Asians are seen to be not tall enough and just short of winning big tournaments, it's fantastic to see a Chinese tennis player and who's also female winning a major tournament like the French Open.
