Sundays @ Noon Concert Series (Sept 11th)

The Sundays at Noon Concerts start the Autumn/Winter season this Sunday September 11th with a concert of Lithuanian music marking the centenary of the death of one of the countries great composers, MK Ciurlionis. There will be no concert on September 18th due to the clash with the All Ireland Final.

Music 21, the leading contemporary music series, returns to the Hugh Lane with guitartist Pavlos Kanellakis on September 25th and an exciting concert of new music performed by Maya Homburger and Barry Guy on November 6th. The National Chamber Choir stops off in the Gallery on their Autumn tour on October 2nd. October 9th provides an opportunity to hear a new brass ensemble, Vox Merus, perform. Slovenian and Irish music feature on Sunday October 16th and a newly formed piano trio of some of Irelands leading musicians of the younger generation will give their Irish debut on October 23rd. 

Two of Ireland’s leading quartets will also give recitals during the Autumn – the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet on November 13th and the Contempo Quartet on Dec 4th. The Avalon Ensemble returns as part of its Trinity College residency on November 20th and December 11th. And in one of the most important and exciting series of the year internationally renowned harpsichordist, Malcolm Proud will perform all the Bach’s Keyboard Partitas over three Sundays (October 30th,November 27th and December 18th).
