Why doesn't HKers hold doors open for others?

Created Tuesday, 17th January 2012, 13:10 by Whykay
One thing I noticed/remember whenever I'm back in Hong Kong, locals don't hold the door open, even if you are right behind them, so glass door in your face can be common if you are not careful. I held open doors to a genuinely suprised delivery man, confused a granny when I gestured to let her through the door first, and made many a HKer smile when I held the door open to them. So with this little bit of joy, why aren't more HKers make this simple gesture a part of themselves everyday. I am sure not the only one who find this happening in HK.
