Chinese may make it to Leaving Cert, but no plans yet

Still no sign of plans to have it for the Leaving though. At least it's going to be part of Junior Cert and transition year programme. Let's hope we don't fall behind other countries though.
I'm attending beginner's Mandarin class with my husband. And for your information, I'm Irish born Chinese and my husband's Irish. And it was interesting to hear the reasons why the other people are learning Mandarin. The main reason is to improve their job prospects, hoping this would a start to do business in China.
