Leap Motion at CES 2013

Created Saturday, 12th January 2013, 11:32 by Whykay
I was really excited when I first came across Leap Motion. You can do hand gestures and play games without having to move all the furniture in your room to get the few feet required. Think Minority Report and it's pretty close, given it costs $70 (excluding shipping), connects to a computer via USB and it's tiny. I was lucky to try out one by Stephen Howell (Kinect2Scratch) who had a dev kit after the GameCityNightsAway event at the Science Gallery. We even had Martin Hollis trying it out. If you are a developer, as a I mentioned, you can request to see if you are eligible for their early access dev kits.

I was really hoping to get Leap Motion over to the GAME for the GAME:NEXT mini-exhibition alongside Project Holodeck and Neurosky last month, but they were just far too busy.
