Visiting UK (up to 180 days)? No need for a visa to visit Ireland

Tourists from "India, China and Middle Eastern states" who already obtained UK visa for up to 180 days, doesn't need a visa to visit Ireland. This is coinciding with the 2012 Olympics and Ireland wanted to take advantage of tour. I wonder when it includes China, is Hong Kong inclusive as well?
