"Sham marriage" blunder by police

The groom was arrested by the police in Derry on the bases that it was a sham marriage, but realised their mistake, released him and the couple married the next day. I wonder who the "whistleblower" was? Who ever made that call should be held responsible for causing undue stress the couple involved and wasted police time.
